July 11 2010 Tuamotu Archipelago Total Solar Eclipse

Plans are to be trough the  Tuamotu Islands during the total eclipse of the sun. The greatest point of eclipse lies in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in between French Polynesia’s Tuamotu Archipelago and Easter Island. Total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun , thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon’s diameter is larger than the Sun, blocking all direct sunlight, turning day into darkness. This full solar eclipse will last just over 4 minutes.
